Lead Financial Analyst, Global Surety FP&A Team

Description

As a Lead Financial Analyst on the Global Surety Finance Planning team, you will work with cross-functional stakeholders to build financial plans, forecasts, and supporting analyses across Surety products, which spans US, Canadian, Latin American, Asian Pacific, and European markets. The analyst work will support senior executives in making strategic decisions related to the overall business and their respective business functions, including executive presentation and project management support to solve problems and improve business outcomes while operating in a deadline focused, fast-paced environment.

The analyst must exhibit strong communication skills to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization in helping to further build out our analytical capabilities. They will partner closely with their manager and the Global Surety Financial Officer on Global efforts. They will embody an environment of continuous improvement, initiating and/or leading cross-functional projects to improve efficiency or effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops ad hoc and on-going financial models for monthly reforecasting and annual planning processes that assist the business in making decisions, effectively communicating trends and outcomes
  • Creates complex management reports and associated analyses that explain financial forecasts and future year plans, investigating discrepancies and trends to identify business drivers of results and support full year forecasts
  • May review the analysis and reports developed by another teammate
  • Leads complex department projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Continually assesses the business value and efficiency of the work performed, making suggestions for improvements and collaborating with others in implementing them
  • Fosters a culture of team development by proactively sharing expertise and experience through training or reviewing their work. May provide feedback on performance
  • Owns our financial planning and forecasting tool, inclusive of maintenance and enhancements
  • Works closely with the Finance Enablement team to implement changes and troubleshoot production issues
Qualifications
  • Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting) required.
  • CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
