As a Financial Analyst STP within the US Retail Markets Results and Insights team, you will play a key role in driving financial transparency and strategic alignment for the Personal Lines Specialty business in US Retail Markets. This role combines strong financial acumen with cross-functional collaboration to support results analysis for the Specialty line of business.
You will partner closely with Finance Plan, Product, Distribution, Actuarial, and Insights & Solutions stakeholders to assess the financial health of the business and inform key decisions that support long-term strategic goals. This role will mainly be aligned to results for the Specialty LOB and will be responsible for leading monthly Financial Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs) with the Specialty Product organization. Additionally, a key component of this role will be leading projects that enable more sophisticated insights for the Specialty LOB. This role will also collaborate actively with the Finance planning team to understand planning assumptions and to provide insights that help shape future forecast and plans.

This role combines comprehensive technical expertise and analytic ability with strong interpersonal skills to lead highly visible cross-functional projects and analysis with significant organizational impact. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences including higher levels of the organization to ensure alignment with project goals and schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Own all standard financial reporting for the Specialty LOB, lead MORs with Property & Specialty Product Leadership, and lead ad hoc projects and analysis based on emerging trends and impacts to the business.
- Lead data enhancement initiatives, process improvements, and improve the overall financial reporting infrastructure for the Specialty LOB by partnering cross-functionally across Finance, Data, Accounting, Actuarial, and Product.
- Coordinate and complete complex deliverables across all of USRM Finance to ensure consistency in approach and connectivity.
- Support prioritization of strategic initiatives in the US region, ensuring they have both operational and financial KPI commitments that are integrated into the plan and actively monitored.
- Execute on Ad Hoc support and short term projects for the Finance Executive Leadership Team.
- Actively drive department engagement & development of junior analysts.
- Bachelor`s degree required; CPA or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial analyst and/or finance project/program management
- Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions while achieving results
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to promote discussion while fostering collaboration within the team and with other areas of the organization
- Effectively negotiates project direction and communicates to a variety of audiences and levels of the organization to ensure alignment with project goals and schedules
- Ability to lead meetings and make presentations to increasingly large audiences
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
