Bond Support Specialist

This position is an Underwriting Support role which will support the Surety National Accounts underwriters and agents/brokers with highly responsive service. Performs duties from support and distribution through bond issuance and file documentation and coordinating service requests in a timely manner. Incumbents will also be tasked with certain underwriting responsibilities, enabling them to develop and showcase the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage these tasks.

The candidate can work from anywhere in the U.S. and t his is a hybrid position, with the requirement to report to office twice a week if you live within 50 miles of a Liberty Mutual office .

Responsibilities

In this role, the individual is responsible for a variety of tasks related to bond management and support. This includes:

  • Maintaining the work in Progress (WIP) schedules and confirming bond closing details.
  • Coordinating the processing of indemnity documents, entering financial statements, and following up on Co-Surety Agreements.
  • Manages various tasks such as Good Guy letters, Financial Status follow-up, and coordination of aggregation.
  • Conducts Large Contract Reviews (LCR) and handles counter guarantees for amendments.
  • Entering bond requests, following up on bid results through agent correspondence and other resources.
  • Conducting analysis and adjustments for the total potential backlog.
  • Handling the entry and submission of rating scenarios for approval and ensuring the setup of agent Line of Authority (LOA).
  • Developing and maintaining consistent document storage naming conventions.
  • Coordinating cross-border bond placements through the Global Service Center (GSC) and closely monitoring market intelligence for applicable accounts.
  • Handles bond registrations and subsequent transactions.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor and support resource for all aligned stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor`s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 5 years of surety bond underwriting assistant experience expected.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of surety business and all processing functions required to support operations.
  • Capabilities include critical thinking/problem solving, decision making, customer focus, detail orientated, exceptional customer service and excellent written/verbal communications skill.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Competent and proficient with computer software applications utilized by Surety.
  • Demonstrates ability to mentor Surety Underwriting Support staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in performing special projects.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
