Leidos has a career opportunity at Scott AFB for a Voice and Data Network Engineer supporting our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The successful candidate will support the operational sustainment engineering and maintenance of a next generation secure network communications gateway. The position requires experience in WAN, LAN networks and Voice over IP (VoIP) within multiple remotely managed environments (DEV/TEST and production infrastructure). In this role, the successful candidate will provide technical assistance, administer configurations, support testing, recommend enhancements, troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with the various network components

  • Support the maintenance and monitoring activities, network and systems operation and administration; scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault isolation, and service restoration.
  • Conduct COMSEC responsibilities; operation and maintenance of associated cryptographic devices and their configurations.
  • Support network planning and engineering activities for all in-service operational gateway node systems.
  • Provide technical and operational support for network expansions, and modernization of telecommunications backbone systems.
  • Provide problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data communication circuits maintained by the work center to include Commercial and GFE owned networks.
  • Provide outage and restoration information as required to include restore times.
  • Ensure the availability of the circuits in coordination with others work centers as required. Perform status updates and circuit monitoring as required.
  • Work closely with network/systems engineers and site personnel to coordinate deployments and maintenance actions.
  • Provide network operations change, configuration, and problem management sustainment and engineering support.
  • Support incident management/fault isolation tier escalation requests.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. (Additional years of related work experience may be substituted for a degree at the Hiring Manager's discretion).
  • Currently possess Security+CE certification.
  • Currently possess a DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Proficiency in at least two or more of the following devices: Cisco enterprise routing and switching devices, Cisco ASA, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), VMWare ESXI, KG-175.
  • Significant experience with IP technologies, i.e. networking architectures, methodologies and voice services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of configuring, deploying and supporting HAIPE (KG-175D). Specifically utilizing management tools like GD GemOne/Chimera.
  • Ability to interpret network topology diagrams and proposed device configuration changes.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following tools: Netscout, Netcool, Northstar, IPCCM
  • Circuit restoration, fault isolation, quality control testing, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting experience is desired.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
