Description
The Leidos Office of Technology is seeking a senior maritime subject matter expert to support the Sea Systems Business Area (SSBA). SSBA possesses a very diverse portfolio including undersea sensors, acoustics, undersea vehicles, undersea deployable infrastructure, autonomous surface platforms, warship design, shipboard systems, and maritime communications systems. This position will emphasize the undersea portfolio, but duties will span the complete portfolio.
Day to day activities will involve supporting the Defense Systems Sector and SSBA Chief Technology Officers in the near term and potentially taking over as SSBA CTO. Specific duties will include formulating strategy for SSBA, managing R&D activities under a $15M annual R&D portfolio, interacting with customers at a senior technical and management level, and working across the company to bring the best of Leidos technologies to the SSBA portfolio. Direct leadership in formulating proposals and other technical responses is also a significant aspect of the position.

The successful candidate must have an active secret clearance at minimum and must be clearable to the TS/SCI and SAP levels. A significant portion of the portfolio involves intelligence community support and will require periodic CI polygraphs.
The current customer set includes US Navy, DARPA, US Marine Corps, Intelligence Community and other government.
Requirements for the position include:
- Master's degree in engineering, physics, or related fields with at least 15 years of experience in the field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree.
- An active secret clearance at minimum and must be clearable to the TS/SCI and SAP levels.
- Direct experience interfacing and program involvement with the customer set is mandatory as is professional communication and briefing experience.
- This is an expert-level technical leadership position and requires the requisite level of experience and education to be successful.
- Experience with intelligence community technical representatives and US government program management is highly desired as is experience with maritime autonomous systems.
- Systems engineering experience with complex undersea systems is also highly desired.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
