  • Technical Leadership- ability to work within a complex programme, solution and engineering ecosystem focussing on areas of responsibility but ensuring to keep the big picture in mind by building relationships within and outside the team.
  • Design - accountable for a project specific High-Level Designs (HLDs) relating to the programme delivery which encompass multiple technologies and areas of expertise.
  • Inclusive approach - the solution lead encourages people to speak freely, creates an environment of safety, listens to people, and advocates for change and innovation.
  • Delivery focus - enabling and supporting the implementation of project elements, proof of concepts and other technical deliverables through to service acceptance.
  • Collaborative mindset - working with the customer and end-users, programme leadership team, project management, technical area leads and engineers, security and service disciplines while aligned to SAFe-based iterative programme execution.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Design

    • Infrastructure design (on premise and ideally some cloud experience)
    • Application integration, hosting, and support
    • Modernisation of capability (Systems, Security, Applications, Platforms)
  • Experience of infrastructure

    • Virtualised and physical infrastructure
    • Understanding of networking principles
    • Storage technologies
    • OS and Hypervisor management, including Microsoft, VMWare, and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu)
    • Data centre management principles
    • Data and data infrastructure management
    • End user environments (VMware, inc. Horizon)
  • Technical documentation
  • Security Architecture including Secure by Design
  • Service Delivery and Project Management

    • Experience of service management principles and frameworks
    • Understanding of service automation
    • Delivery using Agile project management
  • Systems architecture

    • Integration
    • Solution Coherence
  • Professional skills

    • Ability to work under pressure in large multi discipline teams to tight schedules
    • Comfortable working as part of a team, but also individually on multiple projects.
    • Ability to influence architecture and engineering teams within a larger project
    • Ability to engage with stakeholders from multiple areas of the business including product design, service design and operations
    • Estimating and planning skills to support project and agile planning.
    • Communication skills to produce written, verbal, and visual deliverables, explaining complex topics concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Bid experience in public sector / defence an advantage
  • Service Architecture and Design principles
  • Knowledge and experience of software / application development and deployment
  • Experience of Defence Architecture and Solution processes and methods

Pay Range:

£60,100.00-£77,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
