Job Description
Targeting Officer:
Leidos has multiple Targeting Officer positions in Northern Virginia. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph examination and be willing to work a rotating 24/7 shift schedule, to include weekends and holidays.
Targeting Officers are responsible for guiding and monitoring the execution of collection operations and integrating that collection into a cohesive intelligence narrative. That narrative, incorporating highly complex and specialized multi-INT information, must be communicated regularly to a wide audience of stakeholders, in written form and verbally in both formal and ad-hoc briefings. Throughout this process, Targeting Officers must be able to identify gaps in information and take pro-active steps to address those gaps.
Key skills for success include the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, often under stress. Targeting Officers must be able to think critically and communicate highly complex information accurately, clearly, and in the proper context of a larger effort. Candidates should be comfortable and familiar with drafting and disseminating written RFIs. The ability to confidently and clearly deliver concise briefings is a key skill for Targeting Officers.
• Education and Experience: Targeting Officers have a Bachelor's degree and at least 2-4 years of full-time professional experience. Candidates with a Master's degree are highly sought. Previous intelligence experience is preferred, but not required.
