Leidos Intelligence Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to support an enterprise IT program that is responsible for building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services, hosting dozens of COTS, GOTS, and custom applications, as well as a large data lake. This office is responsible for building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services, hosting dozens of COTS, GOTS, and custom applications, as well as a large data lake. The team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, implementation, and operation of the infrastructure components (computer, network, and storage) as well as enterprise services such as VDI, Active Directory, and audit and logging.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support specializing in systems engineering and IT project management.
  • The team of System Engineers will assist shepherd multiple IT systems through the security accreditation processes, create documentation such as System Security Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals and troubleshooting guides, decompose customer requirements into technical solutions, and include factors such as system requirements, system performance, and life cycle costs in requirements decomposition to determine the architectural impact of proposed changes.
  • They will also participate and brief at systems various customer boards, at all levels, assist with project estimation, scheduling, and cost of cloud solutions, provide technical support ensuring the integrity of data flow, provide support enhancing business efficiency and insights, develop and implement standard processes for installation maintenance and enhancement of middleware applications, provide technical, strategic guidance to personnel in the creation and implementation of new databases.
  • They will provide technical and strategic guidance to personnel for the maintenance of existing major databases supporting evolving applications.
  • The team will also be responsible for providing real-time and on-call support to worldwide users, evaluating the technical and cost implications of forensic tools, making recommendations on the best deployment strategy, considering the client's business priorities for any application or tool, providing end-to-end support of field network and forensic capabilities, providing SOPs and other integrated documentation to support the success of field users and the program, and researching and recommending systems, equipment and technologies to improve and enhance existing systems.
  • The System Engineers will diagnose and resolve technical and access issues problems with overseas populations, inspect and test all equipment prior to deployment, work with personnel to identify requirements issues, analyze complex requirements and negotiate requirements changes, be responsible for building, planning and implementing solutions for storage and maintenance of data and backing it up, be responsible for applying patches, upgrading software, and ensuring data is secured, be responsible for monitoring the usage of physical storage infrastructure, inspecting arrays for failures and faults and correcting appropriately, and use application deployment guides and information from application developers to determine the most efficient and performant IT infrastructure components to deploy a particular application.
  • Finally, they will direct or perform the installation of IT infrastructure as well as the installation and configuration of operating systems and applications, adapt their approach to the context and constraints of each project, elicit requirements from project stakeholders in support of infrastructure related projects, and work in a 24 hour, 7 day (on-call rotation) a week environment providing in-depth Tier 1 through Tier 3 level support and problem resolution for technology products and applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
  • Bachelors degree and at least 12 years of experience or Masters with at least 10 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience using forensic software such as Cellebrite, XRY, WinHex, FTK, and Autopsy.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing bash scripting, and bash command lines using Ubuntu and RedHat.
  • Demonstrated experience using Storage system installation design and architecture in multi-petabyte environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting gold image hard drives.
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex systems development (design, implementation, and administration) for NetApp based storage systems including NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel storage technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience using Stornext file system software, installation, configuration and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the following platforms Window Server, Linux, and VMware Vsphere.
  • Demonstrated experience using various instances of Windows - troubleshooting, patching, updates, managing active directing, supporting users and supporting security posture.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, maintaining and administration of Microsoft SQL server db admin; maintenance plans for supporting SQL, to support performance and redundancy.
  • Demonstrated experience scripting in Python, C#, HTRM, XML, Perl, and Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining SOLR.
  • Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and configuring Aspera Enterprise Server and Aspera P2P.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining, configuring, administering Mongo Databases.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing existing systems and identifying necessary corrective actions and improvements.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience performing server installation, rack or capacity planning, facility and space management, equipment commissioning and decommissioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain SOP documentation used by technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach digital forensics to large audiences of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining and sharing curated work data. Demonstrated experience providing aftercare support, such as integration support for previously installed software and programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience performing Tier 1 thru Tier 3 support, including both systems troubleshooting and incident tracking and management.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience serving as an Engineering Lead, coordinating, scheduling, deconflicting, and resolving conflicts between IT engineering projects
  • Demonstrated experience using digital forensic triage application.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
