Description

Leidos' Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking an IT Systems Administrator for our Vista, CA office. This individual will be a contributing member of the Engineering team, providing support for IT related issues as well as software product development activities. The Systems Administrator will work as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain security systems for the aviation division of the SES Business Unit. The Systems Administrator will interact with Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Scientists to develop systems that are consistent with customer requirements.

This individual's primary focus will be on proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving IT Systems Administration related issues as related to computers in our products, at our customer sites, and SES Engineering workstations and SES servers. This includes disaster recovery planning, maintaining IT hardware and software, handling emergencies, coordinating maintenance downtime, etc. for critical systems that affect the entirety of our facility.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • System administration and tool support for the usage of tools and resources such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), PDM Works, operating system installs, disaster recovery, TCP/UDP networking, etc.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of IT/Sys Admin related requirements for the computers/operating systems in our products such as security hardening, group polices, backup and replication management, DR, etc. and troubleshooting related issues.
  • Manage and support infrastructure across hardware, software, and networking domains, including Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual), switches, computers, and virtual appliances; perform off-hour updates and rack-and-stack tasks as needed.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve IT issues affecting engineering systems-including network, server, and software tools-while coordinating with the Leidos IT support organization for escalated or cross-functional support.
  • Perform desk-side troubleshooting and repair for engineering systems, including servers, laptops, and desktops, with the ability to diagnose and resolve common network issues across all layers of the OSI model.
  • VMware ESXI host and maintenance, upgrades, patches and onsite health checks
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties as part of disaster recovery and server maintenance responsibilities
  • Onsite and remote server health checks with master log for all engineering assets (server)
  • Collaborate closely with the CIO team and facility leadership to influence solution design, process improvements, and implementation strategies, while serving as a key local IT resource for engineering support.
  • Become intimately familiar and ensure compliance with customer IT-related product requirements as related to computer lock-down, etc.
  • Assist functional groups as needed for continuous improvement activities. In some cases, this will require the generation of scripts and/or generation of additional software tools.
  • Support engineering users with development needs, including assisting with the configuration and procurement of new computer equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience setting up and troubleshooting Windows OS, Linux, Windows Server, Windows drivers, and peripherals, TCP & UDP Networks, Hyper-V & VMWare.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%. If travel is necessary, typically it will be less than 5%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Devops
  • Cohesity Backup appliance setup, maintenance and configuration with daily/weekly health status checks
  • Isolon replication maintenance and configuration
  • Lead on Annual maintenance renewal
  • Control Reviews for engineering environment (Splunk, Nessus, Trelex, etc.)
  • Server and System administration including patching, zero days
  • File Permission management for all resources
  • Familiar with NetApp hardware and software product lines for sensitive and critical engineering data storage

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
