Description
Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to lead the deployment, configuration, administration, and maintenance of complex enterprise systems and associated hardware. This role is critical to shaping IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security, and providing technical leadership across both physical and virtual environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and supporting hardware in physical and virtualized environments.
- Architect and administer enterprise systems infrastructure in alignment with advanced functional specifications and industry best practices.
- Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot anomalies to maintain optimal uptime and reliability.
- Design and implement backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and restore operations for mission-critical systems.
- Manage storage resources, perform advanced performance tuning, and oversee the deployment of system patches and updates.
- Develop, maintain, and audit documentation for system configurations, operational processes, and procedures.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to system architecture, security posture, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders to support enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff, provide technical guidance, and review work to ensure quality and consistency.
- Lead technical projects, drive process improvements, and manage system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven expertise in the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of IT systems and hardware.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure management, IT best practices, and system architecture.
- Hands-on experience in system administration, server management, configuration, deployment, support, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced proficiency in managing both physical and virtual environments.
- Experience with large-scale backup and recovery operations.
- Skilled in performance tuning, storage allocation, and patch management.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments and Active Directory (AD) administration.
- Expert-level scripting and automation skills, particularly with Microsoft PowerShell.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical projects and driving process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop complex technical solutions.
- Experience in identifying and recommending system enhancements and functional specifications.
- Proficiency in analyzing system performance logs and proactively resolving issues.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
