Description

We are seeking an experienced Sr Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering Red Hat Satellite Server, deploying and managing Ansible Automation Platform solutions, and collaborating with cyber security engineering teams. This role requires hands-on experience with distributed data center infrastructure, system troubleshooting, and maintaining best practices for system security and performance.

Must be onsite 5 days a week in Woodlawn, MD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Red Hat Satellite Server, including patch management and system updates.
  • Collaborate with the cyber security engineering team to design, create, and deploy Ansible solutions for distributed data center environments.
  • Deliver baseline configurations of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Examine current server configurations and scale infrastructure as necessary.
  • Configure Ansible to integrate with Satellite Server and VMware vCenter.
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts and groups as needed.
  • Develop and configure baseline playbooks, projects, and templates in Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Test all created Ansible Automation Platform playbooks, projects, and templates in all environments to ensure proper functionality.
  • Deploy environments using Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Utilize GIT for version control and collaboration.
  • Update system and process documentation, user guides, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Linux systems, including performance, health, and configuration.
  • Ensure best practices and standards are implemented and adhered to for all software systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • BS Degree or additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience as a Linux System Administrator.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Red Hat patching using Satellite Server, NFS, user administration, LDAP client, disk administration (LVM/XFS/ext3/ext4), and related technologies.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting systems to identify root causes of issues in environments with multiple running applications.
  • Applied knowledge of VMware and Tomcat.
  • Experience integrating custom and off-the-shelf software with Red Hat systems.
  • Proficiency with GIT for version control.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
