Sr. Network Optimization Engineer - TS/SCI with Poly Required

Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Optimization Engineer to support the various service owners on current network configuration and future upgrades. The Sr. Network Optimization Engineer provides support to projects that involve networks, monitors/analyzes and troubleshoots multiple Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Network (LANs) to ensure traffic is optimally traversing the network, and participates in new network configurations and integration into existing networks to maintain optimal performance.

The job duties of the Sr. Network Optimization Engineerare as follows:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies network operations issues and solutions
  • Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting on various networks
  • Analyzes problems; creates automation to improve existing systems, data collection, and data analysis
  • Applies network process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and network process modernization projects
  • Analyzes the current performance of systems and networks
  • Reviews user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to eliminate impact on network performance, and improve survivability, and provide feedback to the network engineers
  • Uses complex network analysis tools to identify and predict problems in the network and aid in the post-mortem analysis of network anomalies
  • Generates reports and data required by the program team to manage complex networks
  • Coordinates with operations, engineering, and network management teams
  • Analyzes network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput); recommends modifications to network components

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must have 16 years of relevant/related experience; which can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years of experience, (or) Masters and 10 years, (or) Bachelors and 12 years, (or) Associates and 14 years, (or) HS and 16 years
  • Security+ Certification
  • Must be compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level 2.

Desired Qualification:

  • Project Management Professional Certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
