Leidos is hiring a Solution Architect to support a significant program within the company.

The Solution Architect will support the lead solution architect and the Portfolio Manager of a Leidos organization in evaluating business needs and determining how IT can support those needs with software, hardware, or infrastructure, providing guidance and recommendations to leadership as needed. The Solution Architect is expected to use innovative approaches and solutions across the technology landscape, including AI/ML, Cybersecurity, digital transformation, Cloud, and Data Science in solving complex challenges. The Solution Architect is responsible for recommending and delivering an innovative product, service or a combination that addresses a customer's specific business problem in collaboration with the senior solution architect, particularly when working on an enterprise-wide program. The Solution Architect role is intended to lead from a strategic perspective, including creation or application of modernization strategies, architectures, roadmaps, and CONOPS.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex IT development needs, apply logic, and identify solutions to include potential new tools, technologies, and recommendations.
  • Assist leadership, capture management, and proposal teams in understanding and addressing technology.
  • Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
  • Provide development support to Leidos leadership and IRS customer including creation of automation scripts, coding, testing, deployment, and integration with the Cloud.
  • Work with the program team in the design and development of new applications, COTS products and infrastructure, integrating new solutions on existing applications within the Cloud.
  • Apply knowledge and professional experiences in developing and deploying systems on the Cloud, using CI/CD frameworks and infrastructure automation.
  • Design, modify, and test technical architecture.
  • Work to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
  • Take responsibility for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
  • Manage large projects or processes.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical issues that impact multiple areas or disciplines.
  • Regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems to achieve functional objectives.
  • Communicate with stakeholders about status of project and any problems with technical solutions being implemented.
  • May communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.).
  • Work to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
  • Leverage expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven work experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
  • Able to fulfill all of the responsibilities itemized in the Job Description above.
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand the needs of an organization and find solutions.
  • Must have good communication skills in working with Leidos, customer leaders and staff members.
  • Ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or customer) regarding topics critical to the representative organizations.
  • Experience collaborating, negotiating, and compromising to persuade internal and external parties to understand practices and approaches.
  • Knowledge of technology at the highest level, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to lead the creation and/or application of modernization strategies and CONOPS.
  • Sound knowledge of coding languages, operating systems, and databases.
  • Experience in Cloud operations such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-based application development.
  • Experience working in a DevOps CI/CD and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions.
  • A working knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), AI/ML, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment.
  • Experience as an IT project manager.
  • Certification and experience in Agile methodology.
  • Security+ equivalent or higher certification (IAT Level II+).
  • Expectation is that the solution architect will have experience in a variety of tools of which some may be the following: Java, JSP (HTML/XML), RESTful Web Services, Containers, DevSecOps, Oracle SQL, Linux/RedHat, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD), CA SiteMinder, 508 compliance, IBM Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM), User Interface - ReactJS with Next.js, Microservices and APIs - Java with Spring Boot and Spring Batch, webMethods, Istio, JBoss, Cloud Services - AWS, GovCloud, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Quality Assurance - Selenium, LoadRunner, Splunk, JSON/XML Schema

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
