Position Overview:
As a software/system tester, you will work with project management and software developers to test and verify new features and overall capabilities for embedded trainer systems installed on tactical sonar systems deployed on submarines, surface ships, and surveillance systems. This includes developing and maintaining test plans, performing exploratory testing and executing functional and regression testing as well as documenting and issues observed. This may include travel to various test sites or deployed assets upon customer request. You will work closely with system engineering, software engineering, product management and support teams to ensure the product is ready for release. As a software/system integrator, you will work closely with the team to ensure packages are delivered, documented, and coordinated with the customer tactical systems. Key Responsibilities:
• Execute test cases to ensure software quality and functionality.
• Work with project developers, and project management teams to ensure software meets user expectations.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to identify and resolve software defects.
• Assist in developing and refining test plans and strategies for new software features based on specifications and requirements.
• Conduct exploratory and usability testing to locate bugs before the software is introduced into production.
• Document and report test results, providing clear insights to stakeholders and team members.
• Analyze test data to identify patterns and improve testing processes and outcomes.
• Perform root cause analysis on defects found to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Execute comprehensive testing against the software, ensuring all features function as designed and intended.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing sessions, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
• Support cross-functional teams in understanding testing requirements and quality standards.
• Support integration of Trainer applications into the tactical software.
Education:
High school Diploma.
Required Experience:
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance. Interim Secret security clearance required to begin employment.
• Background: Must have 1+ years of software/system testing experience.
• Skills:
• Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and motivated to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office suite - Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Outlook
• Aptitude for testing quality software on multiple platforms and knowledge of industry-standard operating procedures and tools.
• Skills:
• Basic knowledge or experience with testing methodologies, bug tracking tools
• Basic knowledge of computer architecture and tools for manual and auto testing, unit testing, integration testing, functional testing and bug-tracking systems.
• Familiarity in software development lifecycle management (SDLC).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical soundness, data analysis acumen and troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bash or python scripting ability.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $39,650.00 - $71,675.00
