Software Engineer / Integrator

Huntsville, AL

Description

Seeking a software engineer to perform as one of the primary resources in the development and integration of cross domain security solutions in a small team environment. Primary responsibilities include Development, Leadership, Production support, and Innovation.

Development responsibilities will include developing data flows for a cross domain system. This requires not only an understanding of development, but how the developed code functions across a Linux based system. Candidates will need to apply a diverse skillset in software engineering, system engineering & administration, integration, test, and system security. Customers often come to our unit with a goal in mind, but they need our help to realize it. As such, candidates should be able to analyze requirements to ensure overall testability, and then develop appropriate software design, test plans, and procedures. Since we are a small team, candidates should also be able to assist in the execution of functional, performance, and security tests and support debug of system issues. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who can lead in technical tasks and mentor/direct team members on identification, prioritization, and innovation.

Leadership support also includes advising during Agile scrum planning by identifying areas of technical need and breaking down tasks to features, user stories, and point estimates.

This includes connection issues and other errors with the help of log files for both file transfer data flows (based largely on developed code) and web service flows (REST/SOAP/WSDL).

Finally, continuous improvement and innovation is desired by all team members, especially the senior members. This includes ideas to improve development and production environment efficiencies by introducing new technologies, process, and procedures. Engineers also participate with hands on selection, configuration, and upgrading software/tools as needed in regular development and the production environment.
