Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software and Development Lead to join our team. This role is responsible for writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications, and applying frameworks involved in a software release. The Software and Development Lead will play a critical role in computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing to create and maintain applications and frameworks throughout the software release life cycle. Expertise in one or more programming languages is required.

The Software and Development Lead will:

  • Develop and execute software test cases and procedures for various types of testing.
  • Create comprehensive project plans and dynamically update status dashboards leveraging Confluence to enhance project tracking and collaboration.
  • Monitor patterns and thresholds, trigger alerts, and identify counters needed for data collection and analysis.
  • Apply the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach to computer systems development.
  • Collaborate with internal team members across multiple areas and external parties (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors) to deliver exceptional results.
  • Influence project and team leaders regarding solution design, processes, and approaches.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6 + years of prior relevant experience.
  • Utilize expert knowledge of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Apply a strong grasp of software development principles and familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in one or more programming languages.
  • Proficiency in software testing and debugging.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools such as Confluence.
  • Ability to monitor system patterns and thresholds and trigger alerts.
  • Analytical skills to identify counters for data collection and analysis.

Clearance Required:

  • Must be able to successfully clear a Public Trust background determination during the course of employment.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
