The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking Tech 3 Shipboard Installers at our Chesapeake, VA office. These Shipboard Installers will support of the U.S. Navy Integrated Logistics Center (ILC). The ILC mission conducts maintenance, modernization, and installation of ASW sonar systems. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the ILC mission. The successful candidate will be a proven performer and self-starter with the ability to work well as a part of a team. The Shipboard Installer will be based in Chesapeake with approximately 75% travel to multiple Naval ports both CONUS and OCONUS.

Responsibilities - Work you'll do:

• Lead projects so that contractual requirements are met.
• Compose Daily Status Reports to Program Manager.
• Properly convey scheduling, potential conflict, needs, and job progress to end-customer.
• Work with OSIC to manage requirements, schedule, and to de-conflict any potential issues.
• Assist with managing installation milestones, help with ship's force interaction and scheduling of required ship's force actions.
• Ensure customer, project team, ship's force and team meets requirements and regulations.
• Ensure customer interaction with install team remains within contractual and NAVSEA Standard Item guidelines.
• Interact on a regular basis with the customer and speak knowledgeably and reliably in order to field customer questions and concerns in order to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
• Take responsibility for safety of personnel, ship's force, and equipment.
• Maintain and track documentation of electrical safety.
• Work with WAF coordinator to accomplish tasking.
• Maintain proper documentation and tracking of QA manual.
• Schedule, coordinate, and participate in and document V-Level, I-Level and G-Level inspections.
• Assist on-site QA Inspector in performing and documenting daily duties.
• Interface with on-site QA Inspector about on-board, in-process discrepancies, and ensure they are corrected.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Fiber Optic certified and Connector qualified.
• Demonstrated understanding and adherence to TUMS and ILC tag-out/lock-out program requirements.
• Be proficient in the use of ESOMS.

• US Citizenship required to start with the ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire. Active US Drivers License.

Physical Requirements with the ability to:
• Lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ascend and descend ladders on board a ship.
• Operate and own basic hand tools to be used on ship.
• Work from ladders and reach into the overhead to perform cable installation and removal as well as banding.
• Wear proper PPE (hardhat, safety glasses, steel toes at all times).
• Work required overtime to include weekends at times.
• Comply with all local and specific shipyard safety and general rules.

Clearance Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance upon hire.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
