Are you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex Program that supports a critical mission? Well, look no further! This is an exciting time to contribute to a mission-critical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Senior Software Engineer (SWE-3) to a task that supports maintenance and enhancement of a critical legacy system. The SWE will work closely with a team of software developers, systems engineers, and Subject Matter Experts to refine, maintain, and reverse engineering existing legacy code written in C and JCL. In this challenging role, the ideal candidate will be update procedural code, troubleshoot procedures that end abnormally, manually modify and process data as need. The SWE will develop automated routines for manual processes where possible. The SWE will participate in various meetings and interface regularly with stakeholders including the customer, SMEs and external teams. The candidate must be a proactive, self-starter.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance existing code written in C, JCL, PL1 and Assembler
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Document code
  • Manually correct and process data
  • Interface with users, system owners
  • Assist with account creation requests

Basic Qualifications

Twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Experience with C, JCL

Proactive, attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PL1 and IBM Assembly language
  • Experience with Z/OS
  • Experience with reviewing legacy software code to determine provided functionality
  • Experience with reverse engineering and debugging

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
