Description

The Senior Information Assurance Specialist supports PACAF A6 in Honolulu, HI, providing expert guidance on cybersecurity and risk management. This role collaborates with Information System Security Officers (ISSO), Engineers (ISSE), and Managers (ISSM) across the Pacific theater to develop, implement, and maintain robust information assurance programs. The candidate will also work with developing and implementing continuous monitoring plans, system security plans, security controls implementations, and risk elements mitigation strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to support our nation's pivot to the Pacific.

Primary Responsibilities

Apply deep knowledge of the Department of Defense and Air Force Risk Management Framework (RMF) to develop and submit certification packages for Authorizing Official approval
Have the knowledge and ability to provide recommendations, guidance and coordination to/with PACAF personnel to ensure proper management of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) projects
Conduct continuous monitoring and real-time security assessments to maintain accreditation of mission-critical systems
Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures in alignment with PACAF A6 direction and applicable DoD guidance
Attend and contribute to mandatory ISSO/ISSM training, workshops, and security forums
Process Change Requests (CRs) through the Configuration Management Board and serve as a board member as required

Develop and maintain security artifacts, system security plans, and archives necessary for system accreditation
Coordinate with PACAF A6 to initiate protective or corrective measures in response to cybersecurity incidents or identified vulnerabilities
Draft Security Assessment Reports (SAR) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and communicate certification and authorization status to Authorizing Officials
Provide accreditation or authorization recommendations based on risk analysis upon completion of security assessment phases
Employ project management skills to deliver timely solutions to complex technical challenges
Communicate effectively with internal PACAF teams and external stakeholders, including vendors and partner organizations

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT Systems, Cyber Systems Security, or a related field; additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
Minimum of 10 years of experience in C4ISR, IT, or Information Assurance activities
Proven experience applying NIST RMF methodologies
At least 3 years using security control management tools
TS/SCI clearance required at start of employment
CISSP certification or equivalent senior-level information assurance accreditation
Maintain an IAM Level III Certification

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of U.S. Air Force operations and the Pacific Theater
Experience supporting enterprise-level cybersecurity programs across distributed or remote locations
Proven ability to innovate and develop creative technical solutions under evolving security requirements
Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated track record of proactive problem analysis and solution implementation

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
