Senior Accessibility Analyst - Section 508

Leidos Digital Modernization team is looking for a Senior Accessibility Analyst, who will serve as a subject matter expert to support the provisioning of enterprise-wide guidance, policies, evaluation, and oversight for the accessibility of DoD information for disabled individuals, known as DoD Section 508. You will also provide analytical and programmatic support services to increase the awareness of Section 508. The successful candidate will be a proven performer and self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
This position is 50% hybrid, however you must be within commuting distance of The Mark Center to go in office two to three days per week.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start.
What will you do in this role?
- This position will support the DoD Section 508 provision of enterprise-wide guidance, policies, and standards.
- This job is intended to provide analytical and programmatic support services to increase the awareness, application and effectiveness of Section 508.
- The successful candidate will be a proven performer and self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Apply Section 508 of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) knowledge and understanding to support DoD CIO strategic goals in this area.
- Evaluate the Department's level of compliance for creating Section 508 compliant Electronic & Information Technology (EIT).
- Provide recommendations on how to improve the DOD CIOs efforts to develop, procure, and maintain EIT solutions that increase the accessibility of the DOD EIT environment.
- Recommend considerations to be incorporated into the planning and formulation of Section 508 policyProvide knowledge regarding Department-wide policy guidance and oversight for federally mandated Section 508 implementation.
- Evaluate the Department's level of compliance for creating Section 508-compliant Electronic & Information Technology (EIT).
- Provide recommendations on how to improve the DOD CIO's efforts to develop, procure, and maintain solutions that increase the accessibility of the DOD EIT environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree and at least 12+ years of prior relevant experience in Section 508 capacity, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Deep understanding of Section 508 standards, WCAG 2.0 guidelines, and related accessibility regulations.
- Knowledge of commonly used Assistive Technologies and electronic document accessibility practices.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience formulating policy, guidelines, and training materials.
- Proficiency in both manual and automated accessibility testing methods and tools (e.g., ANDI, MS Accessibility Insights, Color Contrast Analyzer, Axe, DevTools).
- Proficient in using office 365 Applications and has a deep understanding of formatting and the use of built-in tools when authoring source documents.
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and basic understanding of HTML/CSS for accessibility improvements.
- Solid knowledge of SharePoint and collaboration tools.
- Solid presentation skills and development of presentation charts.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
