As a Scrum Master at Leidos, you will collaborate with a team of software engineers, algorithm engineers, and FPGA/Firmware engineers in addressing emerging challenges in space sensor capabilities. The candidate will primarily work to facilitate the development of sensor-based products, space-based sensor applications to control the sensor's unique capabilities, and capabilities relevant to sensors in an embedded environment using Agile software development methodologies. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the capability, quality, and reliability of our embedded software and hardware products. Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation of Agile and SecDevOps for program software teams.
  • Responsible for coaching and reviewing the backlog, program increment, and sprint plans of teams.
  • Ability to apply judgement and tact to challenge, recommend, and redirect teams as well as manage expectations.
  • Helps the other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; with the goal of assisting the team meet their Iteration Objectives.
  • Facilitates the team's progress toward team goals. Continuously engaged in challenging the team to improve performance, quality, predictability, and velocity.
  • Leads team efforts in relentless improvement - Helps the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitates the team retrospective. Teaches problem solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
  • Facilitates meetings - Facilitates all team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
  • Supports the Product Owner - The Scrum Master helps the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Eliminates impediments - Many blocking issues will be beyond the team's authority or may require support from other teams. The Scrum Master actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
  • Protects and communicates - Communicates with management and outside stakeholders; helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Project Management, Education, other related discipline, with 8 years of prior relevant experience or master's with 6 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Successful management or teaching experience weighs heavily over Agile/Software development experience.
  • Experience leading teams in an Agile environment, identifying and converting requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, and effectively communicating between project teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders
  • Experience leading Agile development teams with demonstrated Scrum Master roles
  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM, and SSM)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working SDA, MDA, AFRL, and Air Force space programs.
  • U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software product development
  • SAFe certification(s)
  • Expertise in transforming and building end-to-end environments using DevOps to integrate, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and operate multiple systems
  • Software development tools: JIRA, Confluence
  • Source control tools: GIT
  • Able to obtain a top-secret clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
