Leidos is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join a talented team within the RF Systems Portfolio. Candidates in this role will be a part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting advanced radar and weapon systems research and development in a high-fidelity modeling and simulation environment.

Candidates will be expected to assist the Program Manager in the leadership of all program management functions for a technical team tasked with developing an M&S environment and executing detailed performance studies for the customers and stakeholders. This program involves multiple air defense systems across the joint services.

Primary Responsibilities

The Deputy Program Manager will:

  • Work closely with and assist the Program Manager in overseeing program activities and ensuring they are aligned with the program objectives.
  • Represent the Program Manager, as needed, in support of meetings, customer visits, reviews, technical interchange meetings, etc.
  • Engage team members and customers on a regular basis to fully understand customer requirements and assess the program's progress toward fulfillment of those requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to internal program reviews.
  • Lead and mentor program staff.
  • Communicate regularly with program staff to inform team of program mission, goals, and objectives and provide strategic directions per guidance, and in alignment with, the Program Manager.
  • Track and manage cost, schedule, contract actions, and provide reports to Program Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited university plus 4-8 years of experience in managing projects or programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with air and missile defense systems (radars and/or weapons)
  • Ability to lead a strong technical team of multidisciplinary backgrounds (engineering, computer science, math, physics, and other technical fields)
  • Experience working in a modeling and simulation (M&S) environment
  • Ability to coordinate across a large swath of industry and Government stakeholders and customers
  • Must be US citizen possess an active DOD Top Secret clearance and have the ability to maintain.
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a complex M&S environment with high performance computing equipment
  • Strong understanding of integrated Air and Missile Defense systems (radars and/or weapons) and concepts
  • Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary technical team
  • Master's Degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • > 8 years of experience managing programs

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
