Leidos' Defense Systems Operations Sector has an exciting opportunity for a Receiving and Incoming Quality Inspector to support our Quality programs located in Huntsville, AL. The inspector will be required to inspect Electro-mechanical parts, assembling hardware and cots material that meets the specified purchase order. The receiving inspector is responsible for the inspection and receipt of all incoming goods and handling and preservation of any non-conformance material until a disposition direction is provided. The receiving inspector is to adhere to the work procedures and processes within the receiving inspection department. Further inspection may include setting up and measuring parts using the standard measuring equipment. Receiving inspection works under a direct lead assigned to each receiving inspection dock and has a direct report to the receiving inspection manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the planning and receipt of incoming parts.
  • Basic Inspection: Receiving parts, visual inspection, inspection parts against purchase order PO line notes and quality (Qnotes).
  • Check the quantity of parts, check revision and part number against supporting documentation particularly a packing list and certificate of conformance, check for any damage. Complete Cost point transaction and disposition to the delivery to or POC on a PO.
  • Experience with Non-conformance material a must and return to vendor coordination as needed.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with the standard measuring equipment, calipers, tape-measure, rulers and reviewing of Acceptance Data Packs / First Article Reports.
  • Computer Skills: Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and must be limited to no errors in entering data into the data systems.
  • Experience with special processes such as chem film, mil spec, deburring, painting and heat treating.
  • Experience with verifying and labeling shelf-life and hazmat material.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in electrical and mechanical incoming receiving inspection for quality.
  • Knowledge of reviewing technical drawing for both electrical and mechanical required.
  • Experience with reviewing AS9100 quality systems, reviewal of contract requirement documentation such as: First Article Report, Inspection and test report, Material test report, Certificate of Compliance.
  • Relevant work experience in a Quality Inspection role for verifying count and condition.
  • Deltek Costpoint software experience, excluding time keeping.
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs or utilize the buddy system.
  • Solumina MES and Documentum experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and can work well with internal / external suppliers.
  • Strong written verbal communication skills within and outside of the organization.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast past environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a US Citizen and must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • J-Standard 600 and 610 experience of electrical items
  • Forklift License
  • Mechanical inspection utilizing height gauges, or special tooling

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
