The National Security Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist to support work in our Ridgecrest, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission.

In this mission we provide engineering support for design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy's aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. Our organization designs, manufactures, integrates, and provides depot level support for a wide variety of EW threat simulation systems that are part of the training infrastructure that ensures our Navy aircrews are the most effective in the world.
This position will be based in Ridgecrest, California requiring approximately 25% travel. Estimated travel is between one and two weeks at a time approximately 5 times a year to geographically disperse sites associated with the Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR). These training ranges are located primarily located at Cherry Point, NC, Fallon, NV, Yuma, AZ and Pacific Beach, WA.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, inspect incoming parts, materials, and shipments against records and packing lists.
- Perform in-process inspections, label and store for production use.
- Conduct final inspections with verification of completeness, QA, any functional testing in compliance with all processes, documentation review and completeness, final reporting.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints and work order instructions.
- Use specialized tools and test equipment for the purpose of building and testing.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming material.
- Support root cause analysis by defining the problem, collecting data, identifying potential causes, determining root causes, implementing solutions and verifying solutions.
- Assist in implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Verify rework and repair activities meet required standards.
- Track calibration status of equipment by determining how frequently equipment needs calibrated, tracking and maintain accurate records to ensure that all equipment meets standards and conforms to industries standards.
- Support internal and external audits, physical inventory counts.
- Safety regulations in compliance with OSHA and Local ordinances for operating forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Track material movement and maintain cohesion throughout entire process using inventory management system.
- Follow material handling protocols to ensure safe and efficient movement, storage, supply chain protocols within workplace.
- Supports packaging, labeling, and documentation for outbound shipments and returns.
- Organize and maintain inventory location in compliance with policy and best practices.
- Kitting components for manufacturing production or equipment and electronic test activities.
- Follow established QA procedures and work instructions.
- Communicate quality issues to supervisors, project leads, engineers, and techs.
- Handle and store potential hazardous products IAW OSHA and local laws within appropriate safety guidelines.
- Ensure quality meets necessary standards and is maintained on the production floor.
- Report on recurring issues and support continuous process improvement.
- Support inventory audits and traceability efforts.
- Assist in preparations for customer inspections.
- Support environment and safety compliance in all QA processes.
- Cross train others for the purpose of ability to meet deadlines and goals for customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection ready work area.
- Participate in risk management and mitigation planning,.
- Help implement standard project management tools and templates,
- Uses project management software (MS Project),
- Assists with the development of key documents (e.g. ROMS, BOMs, BOEs, EACs, &c).
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 or more years of prior Quality Assurance inspection experience.
- Active DoD Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Proficiency with standard computer operations and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Access, & Project).
- Ability to work in a flexible team environment and deliver timely, high-quality results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Prior AWETTR program experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $39,650.00 - $71,675.00
