Leidos is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to support the Maritime System Division (MSD) in Lynnwood and Poulsbo, WA, ISO 9001 certified facilities. MSD is aligned within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector under the Sea Systems business unit. The scope of the business activities at these facilities includes underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, supporting information technology & engineering services for complex maritime applications, development and support of underwater data acquisition and telemetry systems for distributed sensors for ISR, IPOE, SSW and platform signature measurement.

MSD is an industry leader in developing, applying, and advancing the state-of-the-art signal processing technologies for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems including distributed netted sensor systems, communications systems, positioning systems, tactical decision systems, and autonomous unmanned platforms. The MSD team includes an outstanding group of engineers and scientists, located in Arlington VA, Long Beach MS, Newport RI, Lynnwood and Poulsbo WA, San Diego CA, and other sites around the United States, who support a broad range of activities ranging from advanced prototype development for DARPA, ONR and other S&T customers to provide support for ongoing Navy missions. The successful applicant will become part of a world class team that is a recognized leader in maritime systems development.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Site QMS Leadership
    • Ensure site continual compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard for all aspects of the QMS
    • Create/maintain a culture of continuous improvement
    • Manage and lead the Mission Assurance team of quality engineers supporting the Lynnwood & Poulsbo sites
    • Collect and report key process indicator measurements to evaluate and improve the quality management system (QMS)
    • Plan, coordinate and support ISO 9001 external assessments
    • Actively oversee the implementation of Mission Assurance goals and objectives and support Quality Engineering & Control business rhythms
  • Sustain the QMS
    • Work with program teams and site leadership to proactively work corrective actions and opportunities for improvement, and ensure timely completion as required by Leidos policies
    • Plan, maintain and support the execution of internal quality audits for the Lynnwood & Poulsbo sites
    • Provide and track training of site staff to ensure awareness of quality management system processes
  • Provide Project and Program support
    • Support performance of quality inspections and verification testing of project deliverables
    • Conduct timely program quality audits in accordance with program audit schedules, report results & document findings
    • Provide guidance to, and work with programs to establish root cause(s) and sound corrective actions for findings and requirement escapes
    • Establish a strategic approach to witness testing
    • Review and provide input to program plans and other program documents in support of document accuracy and on-time delivery
    • Support proposal activities to ensure quality requirements and hours are documented and estimated properly for the scope of the work
  • Suppliers
    • Identify and flow down quality requirements to suppliers
    • Ensure suppliers and subcontractors have established quality management systems and operate in accordance with program requirements
    • Initiate and track supplier corrective action activity
    • Maintain approved supplier list and manage supplier ratings

Basic Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of prior relevant experience; or master's with three (3) years of prior relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects
  • In depth working knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 standard
  • Experience in performance of quality audits, root cause analysis and test witnessing
  • Continuous improvement experience in leading innovative changes
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain credentials to access military installations
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, & Project)
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Certified Lean Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Formal auditor training
  • Experience in a hardware development and/or manufacturing environment

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
