Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing Segment is seeking a Production Control Specialist to join our Defense Space Systems Integration & Test team located in Huntsville, AL. As a Production Control Specialist you will be responsible for planning, preparing, issuing & controlling production schedules and coordinating the flow of materials to meet production requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee scheduling of equipment, operations and personnel.
  • Confirming material supply & demands and preparing work orders for the production of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load & inventory requirements.
  • Plan production workflow for multiple deliverable spaceflight assemblies. Organize & schedule production activities, and resources; including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet production goals.to meet production targets.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Program Scheduling, Quality Assurance, Operations Leads, & Inventory Control.
  • Monitor production status of jobs to ensure they meet schedule requirements & report job status to management using spreadsheets, custom reports, etc.
  • Resolve problems related to production jobs such as configuration changes, engineering changes, material issues, schedule priority, etc.
  • Use of MES software (Solumina) to track, monitor, & control manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, & compliance.
  • Identify & execute on continuous improvement projects and to reduce risks in production processes.
  • Generate & track Key Performance Indices (KPIs) for Floor Operations.
  • Manage ISO9001/AS9100 processes within our department.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience in a production environment.
  • Must be capable of performing in a collaborative Operations environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in project scheduling and proficiency with production control and planning software is essential.
  • Must be able to work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and resources is vital.
  • A strong understanding of production processes, operations & continuous improvement methodologies like Lean principles is important.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working inside a clean room.
  • Deltek, Costpoint ERP & MRP, Solumina, Windchill.
  • Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
