Process Analyst

Yesterday Flexible / Remote

Description

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an experienced Process Mining Analyst; this position will allow for full time telework from any U.S. based location.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Leidos is seeking a Process Analyst to join our Innovation and Automation team in our CDAO organization. This role is responsible for using process mining tools to map, analyze, and monitor business processes, then translating insights into automation and process improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise, business acumen, and familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., RPA, workflow, AI/ML) to drive measurable efficiency and ROI across the enterprise. The best candidate will have both analytical skills and business process intuition, ensuring that mining isn't just "diagnostic" but leads directly to automation-driven transformation

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Discovery & Mining

  • Use process mining platforms (e.g., Celonis, UiPath Process Mining, Signavio, PAFnow, etc.) to extract and visualize end-to-end process flows.
  • Identify process deviations, bottlenecks, rework loops, and inefficiencies.
  • Maintain a process mining knowledge base and build reusable dashboards for stakeholders.

Process Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze KPIs such as cycle time, throughput, compliance rates, and cost impact.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to validate findings and uncover root causes.
  • Prepare "as-is" vs. "to-be" process models with quantified impact.

Opportunity Identification

  • Translate process insights into automation and improvement opportunities.
  • Build business cases including ROI, cost savings, and efficiency metrics.
  • Prioritize automation candidates based on feasibility, impact, and strategic value.

Collaboration & Implementation Support

  • Work with automation developers (RPA, workflow, AI) to scope requirements and validate designs.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma teams on non-automation process fixes.
  • Ensure compliance, auditability, and governance are factored into recommendations.

Continuous Monitoring & Optimization

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards for ongoing process performance tracking.
  • Monitor post-automation improvements to ensure expected ROI is realized.
  • Maintain documentation of current-state vs. improved-state processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years' experience in business process analysis, operations, or automation.
  • Hands-on experience with process mining tools (e.g., Celonis, Automation Anywhere, Signavio, PAFnow, ARIS).
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work with large datasets (SQL, Excel, BI tools).
  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, BPM).
  • Ability to translate technical data into business insights for non-technical stakehold.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with automation platforms (RPA, workflow, or AI orchestration).
  • Experience quantifying and modeling ROI for automation projects.
  • Knowledge of ERP/CRM systems (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday).
  • Professional certifications (Lean Six Sigma, BPM, Celonis Analyst, UiPath Business Analyst).
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills with executive stakeholders.

Key Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Able to break down complex process flows and identify root causes.
  • Business Acumen: Understands functional priorities in Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and IT.
  • Collaboration: Works across business and technical teams to ensure adoption.
  • Change Agent: Advocates for continuous improvement and intelligent automation.
  • Outcome-Oriented: Focused on measurable ROI and operational efficiency gains.
