Description

The Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to work in Woodlawn, MD.

This position requires onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Administration of Open-Source (Community Edition) PostgreSQL infrastructure throughout the development and production lifecycles in an AWS environment.
  • Provide advice and support to development teams.
  • Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation and configuration of Open-Source PostgreSQL.
  • Manage backup and recovery functions for an Open-Source PostgreSQL environment.
  • Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
  • Supporting the standing standards, policies, and procedures of the customer team.
  • Provide mentorship to group members and will be expected to help develop and support mid and junior level staff.
  • May be scheduled for after hours on-call support and will be required to apply production packages during non-peak hours.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

Required Qualifications:

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Bachelors degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted/accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience with PostgreSQL Community Edition Administration/Architect.
  • Strong experience with Ansible/Git/JIRA/Confluence.
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL Architecture.
  • Strong experience with performance tuning of both databases and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in high availability and failover.
  • Strong Linux skills.
  • Working knowledge of LDAP and security.
  • Working knowledge of Python Development.
  • Experience with DEVOPS automation.

Desired Qualifications:

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Proven ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Erwin experience.
  • Design and develop physical databases from customer requirements and models.
  • Splunk and Dynatrace experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
