Painter
Description
Leidos is seeking a Painter to support our Intelligence Community customer in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. This role will be based on-site and will contribute to a variety of Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commercial painting, general construction, and light renovation, and will be comfortable working with minimal supervision across a wide range of projects. This role requires a strong team-oriented mindset, the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, and a consistent focus on quality and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Paint and prep commercial office spaces with minimal supervision
- Interpret and work from basic schematics and diagrams
- Perform general carpentry work including framing, drywall installation, finishing, and patching
- Remove and install carpet and cove base
- Use hand and power tools for facility renovation, repair, and construction
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company policies
- Execute rapid and reliable response to abnormal facility operations and emergency repairs
- Perform physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching overhead
- Assist with other duties as required in support of facilities operations
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in facilities coordination, facility maintenance, or building operations.
- Basic understanding of facility management principles, including space planning, routine maintenance, and building systems.
- Familiarity with facilities operations and upkeep tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and building codes.
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction or facility maintenance
- Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in construction environments
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a Master or Journeyman Electrical License.
- Additional certifications in painting, drywall, or general construction
- Experience working in a secure or classified environment
- Familiarity with government facility standards and O&M protocols
- OSHA 10/30-hour certification
- Experience working on multi-trade teams in support of large-scale renovations
