Seize the opportunity to make a personal impact as a Network Engineer supporting CENTCOM CCJ6-NO.

As a Network Engineer the position will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Network Engineer joining the team to provide engineering and O&M support maintaining USCENTCOM's Datacenter Architecture.

How a Network Engineer will make an Impact:

  • Work alongside Network and System Engineers responsible providing datacenter services throughout USCENTCOM to achieve mission requirements. This entails deploying new hardware/software, services both maintaining and up upgrading current servers and or services.
  • Be able to accurately analyze datacenter architectures, workflows, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to identify relevant concerns and factors
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with multiple work centers and clients within USCENTCOM, and also be able to work with other DoD agencies as necessary, information services (IS) team members, contract and government management, and IT personnel/staff
  • Work with Network and System teams to resolve service affecting outages. This includes routing, switching, cabling, micro-segmentation, contracts as it pertains to Cisco ACI environment, network gear for LAN and servers for physical and virtualized services environment.
  • Is a member of the USCENTCOM Network Operations team but also works with and alongside multiple other IT verticals located within USCETNCOM and our partners
  • Cisco ACI engineer must have experience building and operating data center network fabrics. Experience with network routing protocols and Ethernet switching. Background in troubleshooting large, complex networks. Understanding of VMWare with VDS, NSX and Hypervisor platforms a plus. Experience with IT Service Management and Highly Reliability Organizations a plus
  • All the above skills will be used to assist in maintain current datacenter fabric and to help move the architecture forward as new technologies evolve

Education:

  • Education: Bachelor's: Computer Science, Information Technology. Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. or related field TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 8 + years recent relevant experience deploying Datacenter Fabrics (preferably Cisco ACI fabrics)

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years hands on Datacenter experience (Cisco ACI and VMWare (deployed with VDS and NSX)

Required Technical Skills:

  • Network specialty, Data Center Network infrastructure which may include: Nexus 7000/9000, NXOS, Cisco ACI, Fabric Path, Multi Site Orchestrator (MSO), Packet Brokers, and Firewalls. Ability to implement and maintain protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP, GRE, NAT, VRF/Routing, vPC, FabricPath, OTV, BFD, PIM, FHRP, STP, LACP, EVPN, VMM, EPLD, SPAN and VXLAN. Familiarity with ACI Policy Model. Experience integrating ACI with Cisco Tetration and or Cisco Secure Workload in concert with VMware. Troubleshoot IP underlay, IP overlay, Ethernet, and Multicast. Knowledge in complex Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience working within datacenter constructs deploying Cisco Dashboard Fabric Controller
  • Experience working within datacenter constructs using Nexus Dashboards would be a plus; we maintain several smaller environments utilizing Cisco Nexus Dashboards.

Security Clearance Level:

  • SECRET - with potential of getting TOP SECRET

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Be able to effectively and clearly organize and communicate thoughts and ideas. Organize workflow to accomplish established objectives. Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner. Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Additionally, be able to be a part of a larger IT team or collaborate with colleagues from different departments to achieve a common goal or to gain better understanding of client needs. Perform effectively in environments with frequent and fluctuating workload changes, competing demands, and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Routing Protocol(s): EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
  • LAN/WAN Design concepts
  • Identity Management (Cisco ISE)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
