Leidos is seeking a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) Security Engineer with an active Secret clearance and direct Validator experience utilizing eMASS to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA.

About the Role
As a Navy Qualified Validator, you will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division Command by providing Validation Services and Sustainment Support for IT Systems/Networks Risk Management Framework (RMF) security authorization packages. Your work will ensure RMF ATO maintenance for Information Systems critical to NSWCDD and SWCDD Dam Neck Activity (DNA) mission and operational objectives.

You will facilitate the RMF process, Platform Information Technology Certification services, and other Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes associated with validation and sustainment of cybersecurity authorization packages. Each package represents a system or network requiring authorization to operate in support of the NSWCDD mission.

The Challenge (Job Responsibilities)

  • Assess and document risk, perform security control assessments, and record compliant and failed security controls in eMASS.
  • Recommend corrections to eMASS records and assist with data entry requirements.
  • Complete a Security Assessment Report (SAR) in collaboration with the Security Control Assessor (SCA), based on assessment results.
  • Prepare the SAR Executive Summary for SCAL review.
  • Perform risk assessments of systems or networks' security controls, known threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Support updates to the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) based on assessment results.
  • Ensure traceability of vulnerabilities from raw assessment results to the POA&M.
  • Support the Continuous Monitoring Program.

What Sets You Apart (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience or Master's degree and 6+ years of related experience. Additional experience, trainings, or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with DoD Security Control assessments and DIACAP/RMF.
  • Active Navy Qualified Validator certification.
  • IAM II Certification (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO).
  • Expertise in configuring and running ACAS/Nessus and other vulnerability scans.
  • Experience with all phases of eMASS.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
