Material Control & Warehouse Specialist

Yesterday Long Beach, MS

Description

Leidos is seeking a Material Control & Warehouse Specialist who thrives where precision meets purpose. This role is the backbone of our operations - ensuring that every bolt, circuit, and component moves exactly where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.

You'll coordinate daily warehouse and material control activities, maintaining order in a fast-moving environment that demands accountability, organization, and initiative. This isn't a job for the passive - it's for the individual who takes ownership, solves problems before they become issues, and keeps the mission moving forward.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and components, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and required documentation.
  • Enter receipts and transactions accurately into ERP/MRP systems (CostPoint experience preferred).
  • Maintain and organize inventory through cycle counts, kitting, labeling, and stock put-away.
  • Fulfill material requisitions promptly to support production and engineering teams.
  • Prepare, package, and process outbound shipments with complete and compliant documentation.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Support logistics coordination for materials moving between suppliers, subcontractors, and internal sites.
  • Assist with implementation of lean practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Communicate effectively across purchasing, production, and quality teams to keep operations aligned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of prior relevant experience or 10 years of relevant experience. Additional coursework or certifications in supply chain or logistics a plus.
  • 5+ years of warehouse or material handling experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • 3+ years of forklift operation experience (certified or able to certify).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (CostPoint highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate inventory and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational discipline, and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and teamwork mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for handling and storing materials (including hazardous items).
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Requires US Citizenship.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical warehouse duties up to 8 hours per day.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Awareness and responsiveness to safety signals and environmental conditions.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is steady under pressure, meticulous in process, and driven by pride in their work. You'll fit right in if you value discipline, teamwork, and a clean operation - and if you believe excellence is built from the ground up, one shipment at a time.

At Leidos, we move fast, think forward, and never settle. If you're ready to work with purpose and precision - this is where you belong.

About Leidos

At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo - because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers; we're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history - we're already at step 30, and we're looking for people ready to take the next leap with us.

At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2... good. You'll fit right in.
