What Will You Do

  • Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer and document Unix/Linux systems, software, system related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with established standards.
  • Create, document and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain and patch system environments and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, or reported by users.
  • Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to current operating environment and implement remediation plans.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in the management and operation of the Linux Enterprise operating environments.
  • Perform any required re-accreditation actions such as DISA STIG review, OS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and document various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the normal accreditation cycle.
  • Recommend changes to the government for improvement in the operating and/or security environment.

Your Areas of Knowledge & Expertise (job qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 or more years of related work experience; additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 6 or more years of demonstrated experience in administering and maintaining Linux systems and applications.
  • 6 or more years technical experience of installation, configuration, and security of server environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator and Network technologies and protocols
  • Experience operating in virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures and solutions.
  • Proven experience with applying various security standards (i.e. DISA STIGs, ACAS scans, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Docker container strategies, automated testing, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Bash, Ksh shell scripting

Clearance Required

  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI level of clearance (to be considered, must have currently)

Certifications Required

  • A Current IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570-M Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ce or equivalent) or the ability to obtain within 30 days from date of offer of acceptance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
