Description

Leidos is actively hiring for a Cartographer to join our team in St. Louis, MO.

Join our GEOINT production team to deliver timely, accurate map and chart products at both large and small scales. You'll support cartographic compilation, finishing, and quality review in a high-tempo, team-oriented environment aligned to government standards and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce/review map & chart content using geography, cartographic finishing principles, and GIS.
  • Compile, attribute, edit, conflate, extract, format, manipulate, merge, position, and symbolize geospatial information to create finished products.
  • Support standard product lines/variants, including Topographic Map (TM), MGCP Topographic Map (MTM), Joint Operations Graphic (JOG), Tactical Pilotage Chart (TPC), Jet Navigation Chart (JNC), Global Navigation Chart (GNC), Operational Navigation Chart (ONC), Evacuation Chart (EVC), and Image City Map (ICM) as applicable.
  • Analyze/evaluate foundation data for coverage, accuracy, currency, completeness, and mission applicability.
  • Perform QA/QC against documented specs; document and resolve topology/attribute issues.
  • Participate in technical exchanges with government/partners; contribute to enabling activities (SOPs, how-to guides, peer training).

Minimum Qualifications

  • AS/BS in GIS/Cartography/Geography/Geomatics (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience (internship, capstone, 0-2 yrs) in cartographic finishing, feature extraction, or data content management.
  • Working knowledge of feature/data specs (e.g., TDS, MGCP schema, DPS, SIG) and common formats (shapefile, file/enterprise geodatabase, GML, XML).
  • Ability to edit/merge/conflate geospatial content; interpret web services/resources for feature attribution (e.g., Geographic Names, Boundaries, GRID, GEOPAK, AAFIF, DVOF, DNC, TDS, MGCP).
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap (layouts, geoprocessing); exposure to customer finishing/automation tools such as CWS, DCS, CAPS.
  • Basic experience with geospatial databases; ability to communicate technical topics clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated QA/QC experience using documented specifications and standards.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and 4 years of experience. Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Active TS/SCI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Imagery interpretation to validate features; mensuration basics (coordinates/positional relationships).
  • Familiarity with remote sensing/photogrammetry concepts.
  • Python/ArcPy or ModelBuilder for light automation.
  • Experience helping draft production checklists/SOPs or mentoring peers.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
