Facilities Preventive Maintenance Electrical Technician

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Preventive Maintenance Electrical Technician to support the upkeep and reliability of our electrical systems through routine maintenance tasks and collaborative troubleshooting. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment, contributing to the overall safety and operational efficiency of the facility. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individual looking to build a career in electrical maintenance services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts as directed.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, panels, motors, and transformers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of electrical components and systems as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, logs, and reports.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Support installation and upgrade projects for electrical systems.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and outages.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to ensure overall facility functionality.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Valid electrical license or certification is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 Years of experience working on electrical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Physical capability to perform manual maintenance tasks, including lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies
  • Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Work with large power distribution units (PDU's), DC rectifiers
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a facilities or industrial setting.
