The Leidos Defense Group has an opportunity for an Enterprise Operations Manager supporting Air Force users in the National Capital Region. While the position is based at Joint Base Andrews (JBA) in Maryland, the team operates out of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in DC and the Pentagon in Virginia, and requires work out of all three locations on a regular basis. The position will be responsible for leading the Enterprise Operations team in support of the Air Force 844th Communications Group on both NIPRnet and SIPRnet domains at locations throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), primarily at JBA, JBAB, Pentagon. The Enterprise Operations team includes 80+ staff across a wide range of technical disciplines, providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for the entire infrastructure and platform services hosted on-premise for the Air Force in the NCR. The infrastructure includes Windows and Linux systems, VMware-based virtualization, VDI Horizon, MS SQL and Oracle databases, base Network operations, and associated data center network capabilities such as load balancing and 802.1x policy enforcement. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining Tier 2 and Tier 3 support in regards to operational incidents, requests, and changes in a highly dynamic and demanding environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of seasoned professionals distributed across three physically distinct locations: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and the Pentagon.
  • Lead and oversee team operations, providing direction, support, and quality review while allowing for independent task execution.
  • Provide key input on personnel decisions, including hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, terminations, and recognition-for both direct employees and time-and-material subcontractors working in an integrated Leidos-subcontractor environment.
  • Oversee system maintenance and upgrades, including performance tuning, storage allocation, and implementation of critical system patches.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, such as network diagrams, configuration records, administrative guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage the imaging infrastructure and process for laptops and desktops on both NIPR and SIPR networks.
  • Support modernization efforts by transitioning to next-generation technologies, managing legacy systems, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather detailed requirements and clarify project expectations.
  • Monitor and track the performance of team tasks and projects, ensuring successful completion of both short-term deliverables and long-term objectives.
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices, including configuration in accordance with DISA STIGs and other applicable security standards.
  • Maintain budget alignment for assigned projects, making adjustments to scope and resourcing based on financial analysis.
  • Influence project and team leaders by offering expert input on solution design, processes, and technical approaches.
  • Leverage deep technical expertise to apply advanced principles, methodologies, and best practices in support of mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 12+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience, in lieu of a degree additional years of specific experience will be accepted.
  • 7+ years of experience leading technical teams, with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities, mentor team members, and drive project execution.
  • Candidate must possess (or be capable of acquiring within 30 days) DOD 8570 certification at least IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ and Windows Server 2016 CE).
  • Hands-on experience with DISA STIGs, including researching, testing, and implementing security configurations; applying system patches; managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and local security policies; and remediating vulnerabilities to meet compliance standards and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills, with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on effective client engagement and the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must have a full DoD Secret Clearance at start, Top Secret preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a technical team of at least 40 staff desired.
  • Experience leading a team responsible for IT operations and sustainment desired.
  • Certifications in applicable technologies desired.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
