Leidos is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to support a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Electrical Engineer will be part of a diverse team focused on providing Electrical Engineering Support to our Fuzing Systems in the Defense Sector. will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex electronic hardware within technical, schedule, and budget constraints. Projects will involve diverse technological areas including electronic design, payload integration, and system integration. Supporting our manufacturing team with existing products and launching new products is also a component of this position.

Primary Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will have a key impact on program execution and will assist the Fuze Systems Technical Lead with:

  • Evaluate design changes needed for existing Fuze designs, to meet requirements for new programs.
  • Assist with design and checkout (hardware and software) of new Fuze designs.
  • Evaluate design changes needed for replacing obsolete or hard-to-get parts.
  • Analog and digital design of Fuze products.
  • Embedded software design for Fuze products.
  • Assist Production with checkout of new designs, and with problem troubleshooting of production is existing Fuze designs
  • Incorporate needed changes (hardware and software) in test equipment used for production testing of Fuze products.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Concept development and circuit design of a variety of products
  • Experience using Mentor Graphics E-CAD schematic capture software
  • Debugging electronic hardware with standard laboratory equipment
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
  • Must be resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout E-CAD
  • C programming abilities for embedded micro-processors
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Product manufacturing support

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
