Primary Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and monitor automated jobs-including interfaces with the DHS FISMA Compliance Tool and other continuous-monitoring systems.
  • Analyze waits, query plans, and I/O metrics; tune databases and applications to optimize throughput and user experience.
  • Provide on-demand troubleshooting for job failures, release deployments, data-interface errors, and other production incidents.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy SQL Server/Oracle patches and version upgrades; develop rollback strategies and cut-over plans.
  • Lead data migrations and tool integrations, consolidating or moving datasets to Splunk, Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle Analytics platforms.
  • Design, publish, and sustain dashboards and reports in Splunk, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE, Oracle Data Visualizer, and Oracle Visual Analyzer.
  • Maintain the FISMA Inventory Database, provide ServiceNow CMDB updates, and surface compliance metrics to security and leadership teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 12-15 years of professional experience; or PhD with 13+ years of professional experience.
  • In addition to specific security clearance requirements all Department of Homeland Security SOC employees are required to obtain an Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance to support this program.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with three (3) or more of the following analytics/reporting tools:

    • Splunk
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Crystal Reports
    • OBIEE
    • Oracle Data Visualizer
    • Oracle Visual Analyzer
  • Strong scripting skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell or Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with backup/restore strategies, high-availability architectures (Always On, Data Guard, clustering), and disaster-recovery testing.
  • Active Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior DHS IT security, audit, or ServiceNow CMDB experience.
  • Experience integrating databases with cybersecurity tools (e.g., Nessus, Tenable, Splunk ES).
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional, or GIAC Certified Enterprise DBA (GCED).
  • Background in DevSecOps pipelines, containerized database deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), or cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud DB).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
