Description
We are seeking a Database Administrator to support a large facility maintenance program management team. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization's databases. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, security, and integrity of our databases while implementing best practices for data storage, backup, and recovery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database management systems (DBMS), strong analytical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and optimize queries to improve efficiency.

- Develop and implement reliable backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Test backup and restore processes to ensure data is recoverable in case of a failure.
- Ensure database security by managing user access, privileges, and authentication mechanisms.
- Implement data encryption, audit logs, and security controls to protect sensitive information.
- Analyze database performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Implement database partitioning, caching, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
- Collaborate with developers to design, develop, and implement database schemas and structures.
- Assist in the development and testing of database-related application components.
- Ensure seamless database deployment and version control processes.
- Proactively monitor database health using performance monitoring tools.
- Respond to database-related incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Create reports on database performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Provide regular updates to management on the status of database systems.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- Ensuring requirements and milestones are being met, including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.
- Duties may include developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for a defined portion of a program.
- May contribute to establishing and defining program plan requirements, delivery timeline, key performance indicators, including monitoring and reporting performance, to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.
- Responsible for leading some operations within an area that has significant impact on results for the job family. Responsible for assisting and training lower-level support employees.
- Resolves unclear problems and issues faced, which may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems may span a range of issues or areas. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue.
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the family on matters to obtain or provide information on matters of significant importance to the job family.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Requires extensive knowledge in specialized functions.
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for database management.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
- Understanding of NoSQL databases and big data technologies.

Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00
