Computer Security System Analyst

Job Description:

The Computer Systems Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization's computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Design Tasks:

  • Assist users requiring access to protected resources, including managing user accounts and performing password resets.
  • Provide support to end users with applications and systems managed by the organization, ensuring they can perform their assigned duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain information security standards, guidelines, and procedures to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Write reports on security incidents, user access issues, and compliance with security policies.
  • Implement the concepts of least privilege and need-to-know to ensure that users have appropriate access to resources.
  • Monitor and analyze security events and alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations and compliance with security standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, and best practices to continuously improve security measures.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience in information security, user support, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of access control principles and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist users effectively.
  • Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder)
  • Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting the Social Security Administration or similar government agencies
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., identity and access management systems).
  • Experience in designing, developing and producing network solutions
  • Basic knowledge in mainframe technology languages
  • Basic knowledge of programming
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
