Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd shift Team Lead to join our Mechanical Manufacturing Facility team in Huntsville, AL. This position will oversee designated cells of machines while still manning a workstation. The WTL will be responsible for guiding a team of skilled machinists, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, machining, prototyping, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Work alongside machinists, mentoring, and support team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Trouble shoot machining issues working with both quality, engineering and production control.
- Be a viable go to for buddy checks and floor inspection operations.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly to minimize production disruptions by working with manufacturing management and other departments.
- Report any quality non conformances to the Manufacturing Manager and be involved from a technical point in the RCCA team as needed.
- Work with the Manufacturing Manager to help fill voids due to absences on the shop floor by knowing the skill set of your cell and where they might best fit.
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
- Must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 2nd shift.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing and machining environment with at least 10 years' experience.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, prototyping techniques, and quality control principles.
- Experience in lead or supervision role.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools such as Solumina, Excel, Costpoint and general computer skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Expertise in machining, machine tools, complex setups and general CNC maintenance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
