Leidos is seeking an experienced Chief Security Officer (CSO) to lead a new program of security strategy and initiatives. The CSO will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security programs to protect company assets, sensitive data, and intellectual property. In addition to overseeing physical and cybersecurity operations, the CSO will act as a liaison with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and/or Task Manager(s) on systems security and privacy matters related to customer information and information systems security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in security leadership, a strategic mindset, and the ability to communicate security concerns at the executive level. The candidate must reside in the Maryland/Virginia region and be available to work on-site at one of our DMV office locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a robust security strategy.
- Oversee the implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards across the program.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable security regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security measures, recommending improvements as needed.
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of (8)+ years of experience in security management, with at least (5 ) years in a senior leadership role.
- Familiarity with industry-specific security regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or NIST
- Proven experience in leading physical security and cybersecurity teams, managing complex security operations, and developing security strategies.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to think strategically and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of security technologies, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with physical security systems, surveillance, and access control mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and how they apply to security practices.
- Ability to build and lead a highly effective security operation and integrate security efforts across the organization.
Clearance Required:
- Must be able to successfully clear a Public Trust background determination during the course of employment.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $80,600.00 - $145,700.00
