Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Aircraft Cargo Specialist to support the safe and efficient handling of cargo for air transport operations. This role is responsible for building aircraft pallets, preparing shipping documentation, and operating material handling equipment to load and offload aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of air cargo operations, safety procedures, and documentation requirements, including hazardous materials declarations and chain-of-custody controls.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and configure aircraft pallets for transport, ensuring materials are properly secured, balanced, and compliant with loading specifications.
- Complete and maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation, including shipping manifests and hazardous material declarations.
- Load and offload cargo from aircraft using forklifts, k-loaders, and other appropriate material handling equipment.
- Transport materials between warehouse storage locations and flight line or staging areas.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and transportation regulations and procedures.
- Inspect cargo and materials for proper labeling, packaging, and load distribution.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, flight crews, and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate cargo movement.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of cargo handling equipment and work areas.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or integrated product support (IPS) operations.
- Familiarity with system fault analysis, life cycle maintenance, and standard logistics practices.
- Working knowledge of inventory control, order fulfillment, transportation, and warehousing operations.
- Ability to use logistics systems and tools to manage and track material movement, inventory levels, and support operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze logistics-related issues and recommend solutions.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating across teams and with internal stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of safety assurance practices and procedures in logistics environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with integrated product support (IPS) in a defense or aerospace environment.
- Familiarity with logistics planning, materials management, and transportation coordination.
- Proficiency in using logistics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous process improvement initiatives within logistics operations.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) supply systems or military logistics procedures.
- Certification such as Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- Ability to work independently on non-routine tasks with minimal supervision.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $39,000.00 - $70,500.00
