Overview
As part of this dynamic team, the Global Revenue team is seeking an accounting professional who is familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. We seek an individual who embraces challenges and can rely on his/her experience, educational background and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Senior Manager, Revenue, will be responsible for providing technical and operational expertise in revenue recognition. The position requires a highly motivated individual with a proven background in revenue accounting guidance “ASC 606”, with the mindset of applying US GAAP requirements to systems, data and processes. The position also requires fundamental knowledge and experience with month and quarter-end close procedures, controls and analysis. This position reports to the Director, Global Revenue. The ideal candidate will have strong transformation skills to help automate our revenue processes. We are looking for a CPA with strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Strong business acumen and the ability to influence change through written and verbal communications are imperative.

You will
  • Oversee partners’ billing and collection processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
  • Lead the month-end close for revenue, including detailed reconciliations and preparation of
  • key revenue-related reserves such as AR reserves, sales returns, and credit reserves
  • Review revenue transactions and journal entries, ensuring accurate classification and adherence to accounting standards
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over revenue recognition, recommending and
implementing improvements aligned with SOX compliance
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Business Unit teams to interpret and apply the
company’s revenue recognition policies to new and existing offerings
  • Draft and review technical accounting memos addressing complex revenue scenarios,
including multiple-element arrangements and principal vs. agent assessments
  • Act as a key contributor to system implementations and upgrades, ensuring revenue
considerations are integrated into design and testing
  • Provide support for external reporting (SEC filings), audit requests, and ad-hoc revenue
analytics, while mentoring team members on revenue recognition topics

 

You have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and an active CPA license
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including leadership roles, with
both public and private company exposure
  • Strong expertise in revenue recognition, specifically ASC 606
  • A solid technical accounting foundation with excellent documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Oracle RMCS and ERP systems is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage
stakeholders at all levels
 
LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($121,500 - $162,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
