In this role, you will join the Shanghai Genomics group as a data analyst to support PGDx (and potentially other NGS) assays.
In more details, you will...
- Be the primary resource for analysis needs related to PGDx assays.
- Perform data analysis in support of assay validation.
- Once the assay has moved to production, perform routine QC and any required downstream analyses following established work instructions.
- Communicate with clients to address any project-specific concerns or needs.
- Be able to gather any required deliverables from the analysis system as needed beyond the core reporting.
- Support the transfer of deliverables to clients as needed.
- Serve as on-site physical support of the PGDx system when maintenance and/or troubleshooting is needed. This work would be directed by IT and/or PGDx staff.
- As time allows, support other Genomics analysis needs.
- Work in a fast-paced, high throughput environment to meet client driven timelines.
- Ability to prioritize workload to effectively handle several projects at any given time.
- Quickly and competently train on and perform new and updated protocols.
- Understand and perform specific tasks that need to be completed on a daily basis.
- Identify and offer suggestions for process improvements.
- Ability to complete written reports as part of client deliverables.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to generate high quality data analysis.

What we're looking for
Bioinformatics Scientist I's are most successful at Labcorp with:
Required Education:
- MS in bioinformatics, biology, or related field
Required Experience:
- Two+ years of practical bioinformatics experience, including knowledge of common NGS file formats, data types, and analysis tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.
- Strong background in statistical analysis methodologies commonly used in validation activities.
- Two+ years of experience with Python and/or R at the user level.
- Full comfort working in a *nix-based environment. Bash or other scripting skills is essential.
- Experience working in a clinical or regulatory environment.
Desired Experience:
- Prior experience working in a clinical or regulatory environment.
- Previous CRO experience a plus.
- Competencies:
- Written and verbal English communication skills.
- Able to function in a fast-paced, high throughput environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in a client-facing role.
- Strong interpersonal and team work skills are essential.
