Responsibilities :

  • Pro-actively monitor new and/or existing projects and communicate with the management and SMART Database Loading Administrators on problem areas.
  • Monitor and maintain SMART Scheduling functions on a daily basis
  • Initiate scheduled shipments, allocate pulling and shipment dates (of scheduled & unscheduled) and ensure such dates are respected.
  • Work with pull/pack team to ensure shipping volumes are not exceeded.
  • Responsible for different QC requested by the client and different QC into SMART.
  • Complete all scheduled SMART queries.
  • Responsible for negotiating and adjusting shipping date that best satisfies the customer's needs and expectations.
  • Be able to process specific oncology samples.
  • Maintain inventory spreadsheets for customer specific labels, stock items, SMART labels, maintain Special Handling Specimen Log, training checklist and training material.
  • Receipt and process Pass-Through international shipments from other Labcorp CLS locations.
  • Monitor Zavacor to include pending management and problem sample resolution.
  • Be able to handle and process AP samples.
  • Accession and registration of specimens in Zavacor if required.
  • Adds additional classes in SMART project definition if necessary.
  • Performs special request monitoring of validation and pull queues.
  • Follow up of any issues or questions from the referral laboratories.
  • Registration of specimens on Zavacor database if required.

All teams:

  • Demonstrate flexibility by doing other duties assigned, such as assisting in writing SOPs or acting as a subject matter expert for the department.
  • Act as on the job trainer for all aspects of the SM Assistant position for both new staff and continuing education of existing staff.
  • Assumes leadership role in the supervisor's absence to include but not limited to:
    • Organizing assignments during the workday.
    • Acting as a resource for both internal and external customers.
  • Pro-actively monitor new and/or existing projects and communicate with the management and SMART Database Loading Administrators on problem areas.
  • Attend customer audits and provide demonstrations upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Minimum 1 year of applicable working experience
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Dynamic attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to take up challenges
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to use several software packages i.e. Word, Excel, Access
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree / advanced degree in applicable discipline
