Labcorp is looking for a Part Time Medical Directorfor our Esoterix lab in Calabasas, CA and Thousand Oaks, CA. The Medical Director would be a key member of our leadership team and would join a collaborative and supportive team that is passionate about delivering the highest quality of patient care and customer service. The Medical Director serves as a technical resource for clinical laboratory procedures and client physicians and ensures compliance with required national quality standards regarding laboratory practices, policies, and procedures.
Work Schedule: Part Time 20 hours a week
Pay Range: $150,000-$170,000

Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative and laboratory support internally and to our clients.
- Oversees all current licensing and regulatory/compliance.
- Participate in the review and approval of new service offerings and assess new test feasibility.
- Works with Quality Assurance and laboratory management to assure that we have the systems, procedures and documentation necessary to meet all current licensing and regulatory requirements for all CAP, state, federal government and client requirements.
- Participates in client audit or regulatory inspections as required
- Implement quality standards and help assure regulatory and legal compliance. Demonstrates a passion for quality and process improvement in both anatomic and clinical pathology.
- Expert discussions with referring providers as needed in person, phone, or electronically.
- Adaptability with regards to administrative versus service responsibilities. Willingness to sign out cases as needed.
- Participates in continuing education to understand the technical performance of testing and keeps abreast of any changes in relevant scientific fields.
- Provides technical expertise regarding testing performed in the lab for testing personnel and clients.
- Assists in expanding and supporting the ongoing clinical education for the laboratory staff, client service, clients, as well as sales and marketing personnel.
- Assists with clinical correlation studies to validate new assay procedures or to expand the database of normal reference ranges.
- Advises members of the staff through research and presentation of technical promotional literature regarding assays and their clinical utility.
- Provides written material for publication and education to staff and others on topics related to our business.
- Provides on-site support at least once each month as travel demands permit.
- Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements:
- CA-Licensed physician with Board Certification
- Five years of post-training experience is required
- Three years of experience in a high volume hospital / large referral laboratory preferred
- Excellent communication skills are required, both written and verbal
- Creating a culture of accountability through communication of clear expectations and high-performance standards.
