Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily production and non-production activities of the departmental team to ensure smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of testing services delivered by team members to meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Schedule and assign appropriately trained personnel to match workload demands and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
- Oversee non-production responsibilities such as equipment validations, surveys, and documentation in accordance with SOPs.
- Support the department manager in fulfilling operational goals and act on their behalf during absences when delegated.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards through performance monitoring and reporting of quality metrics (PT, QC/PM, Internal/External QC).
- Provide supervision and guidance to staff, including technical troubleshooting and performance counseling as needed.
- Communicate clearly with staff regarding performance expectations, procedures, and any departmental changes.
- Support client audits, visits, and inquiries by ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with requirements.
- Recruit, train, and contribute to retention and development of technical staff through mentorship and ongoing training initiatives.
- Assist with employee performance evaluations and development plans in collaboration with the department manager.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to address specific client needs and requests for testing services.
- Perform testing of patient samples within areas of competence as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical science, life sciences, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant laboratory experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate team members effectively.
- Experience with audit preparation, validation processes, and CAPA management is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
- Committed, responsible, and meticulous with a positive and proactive work attitude.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays when operational needs arise.
