Internship Details

  • Location: Raritan, NJ
  • Compensation: Pay Range $16 - 25

    • All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Internship Assignment Summary:

Accountable for administering EHS policies, procedures, and programs by coordinating EHS training, performing chemical hazard assessments, and supporting EHS initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce existing safety programs, assist in conducting employee training and completing risk management assessments in the areas of safety, occupational health, and environmental management.
  • Coordinates incident investigations root cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure.
  • Assists in waste minimization practices under the direction of the EHS Management.
  • May provide waste management duties.
  • Lead or participate in facility EHS inspections.
  • Perform waste determinations of existing lab equipment.
  • Assist with EHS data tracking and regulatory submissions.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or Technical Field
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local occupational safety industry regulations and guidelines (OSHA, EPA, L&I, other)
  • Strong document management skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving/trouble shooting skills.
  • Proficiency in computer programs/software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP EH&S, and SAP PM.
  • Must have ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple priorities.
  • Ability to self-lead tasks to completion.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment but also have the ability to work independently.
  • Must have strong employee training development and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility is key in this role as priorities change quickly. Must be able to move between tasks and projects on short notice and quickly change priorities based on customer and department needs, while meeting project deadlines.
