Responsibilities:
- Report to the China Head of Exploratory Biomarker Solutions (EBS).
- Support the China Head of EBS and have close partnership with Biomarker Solution Center and Laboratory Operation leads.
- Work with clients and provide scientific advice on biomarker selection, characterization and development for clinical trials.
- Support integrated sales by working closely with the commercial teams in Labcorp APAC and identify potential opportunities in biomarker related studies in early-phase clinical trials.
- Coordinate with lab leads and provide testing solutions including biomarker validation strategies for non-standard assay requirements in accordance with regulatory compliance.
- Regularly compile and update clinical biomarker catalogues in various therapeutics areas, working closely with lab managers and scientists.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and assist in leading initiatives to solve scientific problems with assays or instrumentation.
- Apply and interpret scientific theories, concepts, techniques and regulatory requirements in clinical studies and provide support in developing scientific approaches.
- Provide consultation to scientific and operational staff on technical issues.
- Respond to unscheduled deadlines, client needs and issues, etc. without neglecting other duties.
- Assist in regular monitoring and evaluation of clinical assays to ensure effective scientific performance.
- Provide technical/scientific consultation to departments outside the lab (i.e. Project Management) as requested.
- Contribute to long-term planning and technical policies of EBS
- Participate in client visits and bid defense meetings and provide support for early client engagement.
- Regularly read literature related to scientific areas of expertise.
- Attend conferences, symposia, and seminars and promote Labcorp clinical testing capabilities within dedicated scientific areas by delivering presentations.

Education /Qualifications
Required: Ph.D. in scientific areas of expertise.
Preferred: Board certification in scientific areas of expertise.
Experience Required:
- Post-doctoral experience (3-4 years) within the scientific areas of expertise. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements above.
- Fluency in Japanese, English and Mandarin.
- Highly skilled in conducting research, data interpretation, and report writing.
- A proven track record of method development and validation.
- Experience with scientific presentations and preparation of scientific publications.
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory automation, system software, Microsoft applications and laboratory statistics.
- Effective communication skills with technical staff, business development staff, peers and clients.
- Attention to details and interpretation of scientific data.
- Demonstrate strong abilities in problem prevention, detection and resolution.
